The Little Sparrow
The little sparrow was only a few weeks old and was already trying to flap his wings but he could not fly.
"Mummy why can't I fly ?" the little sparrow asked. Because you haven't grown all your feathers my little sparrow.
"When will I have all my feathers mummy ? In a few months my baby"
Little sparrow was soon wanting to fly fast and high. Instead he ran quickly everywhere. Over puddles, over rocks, over small plants, over small insects - sometimes he ate the insects. Many weeks passed and one day he was playing with his friends running around so quickly.
They were laughing and playing and pretending to fly by flapping their little wings. Little sparrow was running so fast he did not stop in time and fell into a large hole in the ground. Little sparrow was so upset but he also starting flapping his wings very fast.
Little sparrow started slowing down and soon his wings were flapping so fast he started to fly up the hole. His friends were looking down and waiting for him to fly out of the hole. He got to the top and sat down for a while because he was so tired.
Little sparrow went to tell his mummy what happened with his firends and told her the story. Mummy sparrow didn't believe little sparrow and his friends all said "he did, he did fly". Mummy sparrow said that's wonderful, see I told you you would fly one day !
